:::..............................  DEAN TABAI

I have received my Bachelor's Degree in Film and Television Production from California State University at Northridge (CSUN) in Los Angeles, and earned my post-graduate degree attending the University of Southern California's (USC) cinema department.

I have taught screenwriting and film appreciation at California Sate University, Stanislaus (CSUS) in Northern California, and held writing workshops in the San Francisco area in coordination with the English, drama and film departments of UC Berkeley, San Francisco State and Stanford universities.

For two decades, I worked closely with Commtron Corp., Ingram Entertainment, Monarch, Disney and Paramount Home Videos - among other distributors on the West Coast, consulting with them on the marketing and promotions of their released feature films, and the evaluation of the market's demand for every title based on its characteristics and the target audiences' demographics. This is a sensitive area, because my analysis of the market performance of each film would directly translate into financial gain, or loss.

By knowing the market and the audiences' tendencies I have also worked as a consultant to help writers and production companies to give their projects "the edge" in order to make them more marketable and successful. My task has been to evaluate the properties' subject matter, dramatic structure, and above all, the entertainment values that would help to promote the sales - after all Time Warner, Viacom, News Corp and Disney need to expand their revenues and margins in order to maintain growth and shareholders' satisfaction.

I have created project "SYNERGETIC BOOST", - a blend of marketing, entertainment, leisure and media concepts, with concentration on dramatic impact, emotional connection and immediacy. This combination will generate explosive results, moreover, is an effective tool to help the A/V writers in preparation for dealing with the expanding fields of sponsorship, brand imprint/enhancement and product placement.

Now my interest is fully focused on developing and packaging my own, new projects, including "The Billionaire Kid", "Underdome", "The pits"…. At the same time, I would like to help and collaborate with dedicated writers, who have something interesting to say - that is why I have decided to join forces with AEI.
