literary management Since graduating from Old Dominion University in ’99 with a B.S. in Health Sciences and a minor in Management, Jennifer Minar-Jaynes has made her living as a content manager, webmaster, publisher, editor, and copywriter. In ’04, Jennifer founded www.WritersBreak.com, which became widely recognized in the writing world and went on to be named a ‘best website for writers’ by Writer’s Digest magazine in ’05 and ‘06.

After moving from Washington , D.C. to Los Angeles in ‘05, Jennifer quickly traded in her conservative business suits for jeans and t-shirts and added screenwriting, acting, and freelancing to her repertoire.

The only child of an Air Force sergeant, Jennifer found herself moving to different towns and schools nearly every year. Shy and never feeling like she quite fit in with her peers, Jennifer quickly turned to books for an escape. Not long after, her love of reading was joined with a love for writing and she began penning short stories, poems, and novels.

Out of the various parts of the U.S. she lived, perhaps most impressive to her were the small towns in Louisiana —areas overflowing with exotic culture, mystery and old southern charm. Because these towns left such a lasting impression on her, she was inspired to set her first novel, Never Smile at Strangers, in the fictitious Southern Louisiana town of Grand Trespass.

Besides reading and writing, Jennifer has an intense passion for Texas Hold ‘Em. She lives in Los Angeles with her boyfriend and two dogs, and is currently working on her second book and two screenplays.
